Circle Mirror Transformation is a strange little naturalistic meditation on theater and life and death and the passing of time. Realistic in situation, four people decide to take an acting class taught by the co-executive director of the local Community Center. Each character is shaped and transformed by their past and into their present during the six weeks of classes; learning of themselves and each other through the circles of experience that happen within the wall of this movement studio. We see ourselves reflected in the moment of character revelations and circumstances.
Naturalistic in dialogue, a slice of life, the monologues and dialogues are taken from “real life” conversations where stumbles, stutters and pauses seem more important than the words that are spoken.
Come with DramaDogs on our journey of life and death and the changes that happen along the way: “This is kind of weird – but do you ever wonder how many times your life is gonna end? Like how many people you’re . . . like how many times your life is gonna totally change and then, like start all over again? And you’ll feel like what happened before wasn’t real and what’s happening now is actually . . .” – Lauren Zadick-White
